About Prevention & Early Intervention
Our goal is to develop a clear, coordinated and comprehensive approach to promotion of healthy individuals, prevention of behavioral health problems, and earlier intervention when a problem is recognized.
Programs:
- Suicide prevention
- Substance abuse prevention / Partners for Success
- Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders
- Alcohol Safety Action Program
- Tobacco enforcement and vendor/youth education
- Alcohol and Drug Information Schools
In combining these programs into a single section focused on promotion, prevention and early intervention we are committed to developing an integrated, community-based approach to proactive services that will assist us in improving the overall health of Alaska’s communities, families and individuals.
