Putyuk Children's Home
Putyuk Children’s Home is located in Kotzebue, and serves the Northwest Arctic Region located 33 miles above the Arctic circle. We serve twelve villages including: Noorvik, Shungnak, Kiana, Kiviliana, Noatak, Ambler, Kobuk, Deering, Buckland, Selawik and Point Hope.
Our facility operates as a Level Two Emergency Stabilization and Assessment Center (ESA)which offers a 1:5 ratio. The population we serve include children from 0 to 18 years of age, both male and female. Our referrals generate from Office of Children Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, and at capacity are able to offer eight beds, with one bed offered for respite through the Maniilaq Health Center.
We link services with partners in the Community such as: Boys and Girls Club, National Park Services, Chukchi Library, North Arctic School District and the Kotzebue Senior Center. Putyuk offers children in crisis the opportunity to experience a loving, nurturing environment while meeting their therapeutic needs.
