Preferred Drug List Program Overview

In an effort to control the rising costs of health care, specifically drug therapy, the State of Alaska, Department of Health, has initiated a program to address this issue. The Preferred Drug List has been developed for DOH by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee in an effort to select both clinically sound and cost effective medications for use by those eligible for Medicaid benefits.
