Alaska Youth Friendly Clinics
Goal
Increase youth access to and applicability of reproductive and sexual health services and Adolescent Well Visits.
The Youth Friendly Clinics project is a collaboration with the Adolescent Health Initiative at Michigan Medicine, pediatricians, parents, and young Alaskans. Over the course of 18-months, clinics receive expert guidance in an Adolescent Centered Environment Assessment Process (ACE-AP) that includes technical assistance, implementation planning, reporting, training, guided calls, access to and problem-solving regarding barriers that each clinic may experience.
The ACE-AP has been shown to increase access to care, enhance clinical environments for adolescents, increase confidentiality practices, and bolster best practices and standards of care.
