The following lists represent agencies and health care providers who have agreed or requested to have their clinics and agencies listed on this website. The lists are not comprehensive of all agencies and providers of pregnancy-related services in Alaska. Local telephone directories may provide further contact information for pregnancy-related services in Alaska, or visit Alaska 2-1-1 to search by community.

State of Alaska Public Health Centers

Public health nurses at public health centers provide contraceptive education and counseling, condoms, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, and referral to appropriate services for additional care. Prescription contraceptives are available from Advanced Nurse Practitioners by appointment at a few public health centers. Please contact the Public Health Center nearest you to see what services are available.

Pregnancy-related Counseling, Support, and/or Clinical Services

The agencies, clinics, and professionals listed here offer a wide variety of services, ranging from comprehensive primary care and pregnancy-related clinical services and/or support for all pregnancy options, including abortion; family planning and contraceptive services and referrals; and faith-based pregnancy support. Note: some tribal health facilities only serve beneficiaries. For details about the services offered at each site, please contact the site directly.  The agencies, clinics, and professionals listed here include:

  • Private health care practitioners (Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, and Physicians' Assistants) licensed in the state of Alaska;
  • Hospitals, Community Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, and Private Health Care Facilities;
  • Social workers, licensed by the State of Alaska, who specialize in pregnancy-related counseling, support and referral;
  • Adoption agencies and attorneys who provide counseling and support services for pregnant women seeking adoption information and child placement assistance.  Please note that the agencies listed here may not be licensed by the State of Alaska. Please contact directly the agency or individual provider listed here to obtain information about their licensing or certification (or see belo​w for more information about adoption.)
  • Faith-based agencies can offer faith-based, pregnancy-related support, counseling and referral to pregnant women, and post-abortion counseling. Some sites also can provide maternity clothes and baby items free-of-charge. Finally, some faith-based organizations are licensed adoption agencies and provide child placement assistance. In the lists below, faith-based agencies are identified in the "Notes" section for those agencies. 
  • Other agencies that specifically requested to be listed on this website; a brief description of services provided is included with each agency listed.

Other Pregnancy-related Resources

Safe Surrender of Infants: This law allows you to give up your baby within the first 21 days of birth by bringing the baby to a fire or police station, medical facility, or to a person you can trust. The State of Alaska's Division of Public Assistance may be able to help you pay for the pregnancy option you choose.

  • The State of Alaska reviews and updates the information on this website and new information submitted to the department at least once a year.
