Central Intake Unit

What is Central Intake?

Two of the Department of Health Divisions have combined efforts to jointly process intakes more effectively as one virtual Intake unit. These units consist of Assisted Living Home Licensing, a unit of Division of Health Care Services; Adult Protective Services and Quality Assurance units from the Division of Senior and Disabilities Services.

What is an Alaska Centralized Report?

“Alaska Centralized Report” means a faster and easier way to report information to Adult Protective Services (APS), Senior and Disabilities Services Quality Assurance (QA) and Assisted Living Home Licensing (ALL) simultaneously. This reporting site replaces the old Report of Harm to APS, Critical Incident Report to QA, complaints made to QA, complaints made to ALL and the Incident Complaint Report Form to ALL.

Mandated Reporters

  • Have a duty to report under the law and must make a report to Central Intake within 24 hours of knowledge or belief that a vulnerable adult has or is being maltreated.
  • Telling your supervisor or agency does not meet this requirement.
  • Failing to report is a misdemeanor. You can lose your license to work in your field if you do not report.
  • If you want to know if you or your staff/agency are mandated reporters please visit the Adult Protective Services’ (APS) website.

Why Report?

  • Only 1 in 5 cases of abuse, neglect and exploitation are reported nationally.
  • Many people we serve are isolated.
  • Many people we serve are hopeless, lost or in despair.
  • Many people we serve feel like they have no way out.
  • You can help them find their voice.
  • You can advocate for justice.
  • You can help offer choices for change.
  • We can’t do it without you.
  • Call us or fill out the form.
  • And for some of us it’s the LAW.
