Mandated Reporters

Who are mandated reporters required to make a Report of Harm?

  • Physicians or other licensed health care providers
  • Mental health professionals, including licensed marital and family therapists
  • Teachers or other education staff
  • Pharmacists
  • Nursing home, residential care, and health facility administrators
  • Home health aides and emergency medical services personnel
  • Law Enforcement
  • Guardians and Conservators
  • Village Public Safety Officers (VPSO)
  • Village health aides
  • Social Workers
  • Members of clergy
  • A caregiver for the vulnerable adult
  • Employees of service grant agencies funded by the Department of Administration for the provision of services to older Alaskans, the Department of Health, and the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

Any person in the community who has a concern about a vulnerable adult may make a report to Adult Protective Services.

Mandated Reporter Training

After you have completed the online training and scenario handouts please complete the Record of Viewing and Completion for Mandated Reporter Training Video form. Email or fax it to Adult Protective Services (hss.aps@alaska.gov or fax 907-269-3648) to receive credit and have your record updated.
