Healthy and Equitable Communities
Creating partnerships across Alaska to support healthy lives for all Alaskans
Who we are
Healthy and Equitable Communities has staff in communities across Alaska, to help make sure the places we live, work, and play are also helping keep Alaskans healthy. We do this through community partnerships and by building on Healthy Alaskans 2030, the state’s health improvement plan.
What we do
We have dozens of community partnership projects throughout the state. Some projects are statewide, others are in specific communities. All are designed to improve Alaskans' health and wellness. Find a map of our community partnerships in Related Resources.
Many of our project activities focus on helping high-risk, underserved groups. These include:
- Expand and develop services to reduce harm from respiratory illnesses
- Improve health data collection and sharing
- Combine efforts statewide to address root causes of health conditions
- Enhance implementation of Healthy Alaskans 2030 priority health objectives and strategies
The activities we choose are guided by a strategic plan. This plan was created with input from partner organizations from all over Alaska.
