Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority
The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority is known as "The Trust." Both words are capitalized to indicate that this name represents the only organization of its kind in Alaska dedicated to assisting those who experience mental illness; mental retardation or similar disabilities; chronic alcoholism with psychosis; or Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority administers the Mental Health Trust established in perpetuity. The Trust also provides leadership in advocacy, planning, implementing and funding of a comprehensive integrated mental health program to improve the lives and circumstances of its beneficiaries. Mental Health Association in Alaska
Advocates on behalf of the mentally ill and emotionally disturbed. Prevention of mental illness, the promotion of good mental health and the continuous improvement in the care and treatment of the mentally ill are integral parts of the Association's mission. Provides weekly therapy groups for persons experiencing depressive illnesses; educational presentations on mental health related issues; depression and panic disorder screenings; and free, confidential consultation.
