About Alaska Occupational Health Indicators

The occupational health indicators were generated using the Occupational Health Indicators: A Guide for Tracking Occupational Health Conditions and Their Determinants, published by Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) in collaboration with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, November 2004.

The CSTE Occupational Health Indicators were selected based on the availability of easily obtainable state-wide data 1; public health importance of the occupational health effect or exposure to be measured; and the potential for workplace intervention activities. A report entitled Putting Data to Work: Occupational Health Indicators from Thirteen Pilot States for 2000 is available.
