Freedoms and Protections for Participants Residing in Provider Owned, Operated/Controlled Residential Settings
The Settings final rule requires that all participants in Medicaid-funded services have opportunities to seek employment and work in competitive and integrated settings, engage in community life, control personal resources, have full access to benefits of community living, and opportunities to receive services in the community to the same degree as people who do not receive home and community based services. The following fact sheets highlight some participant freedoms and protections required by the Settings final rule.
