​Disaster Behavioral Health Response

The Division of Behavioral Health partners with the Division of Public Health’s Health Emergency Response Operations (HERO) to respond to state declared emergencies.

When a natural or human-caused disaster happens, it can disrupt people’s lives in many ways.  Common emotional responses to a disaster include stress, anxiety, and depression.

Disaster Distress Helpline 1-800-985-5990

  • Provides immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.
