Data requests

The Alaska BRFSS program strives meet the needs of all data users. Please visit the interactive Alaska BRFSS Data Center to obtain summary data. If the data center does not meet your needs or you want to request raw datasets to conduct your own analyses, please email brfss@alaska.gov. Staff will send you a survey link to begin the data request process.

Completion and timeliness of data requests are dependent upon data request complexity and staff availability, but we aim to complete data requests within three weeks.

Before submitting a data request, be prepared to provide the following information:

• Purpose of the data request
• When you need the data
• Year(s) of data being requested
• Geographic areas of interest (e.g., statewide, public health region, behavioral health region, or tribal health region)
• Specific variables or topics of interest. Please look through the annual questionnaires to understand which questions were asked each year. Contact brfss@alaska.gov if current questionnaires are not available online.
