Yersinia enterocolitica (Yersiniosis)

Yersinia enterocolitica are bacteria that cause gastrointestinal illness, with symptoms like watery diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. The bacteria are spread by eating contaminated food or by having contact with a person who has prepared contaminated food. Pork and pork products are commonly associated with Yersinia infections.
