WIC Approved Foods

The total list of approved foods is known as the eWIC Approved Products List (or APL) and can be accessed as an Excel spreadsheet. It is most often used for review by retailers and food manufacturers, but may also serve as a useful reference for participants:

The WIC Food List is an abbreviated summary, or mini-list, of the Approved Products List and is intended to be a handy reference for participants to use while shopping. It is available as a printed brochure through your local WIC clinic or as a downloadable PDF:

Submit a Food For Approval

The Alaska WIC Program has implemented eWIC. We will review all WIC eligible food products that are distributed in Alaska for addition to our eWIC Approved Products List, also known as APL. We accept submissions for new or changed food products year-round.

To submit a new food for review, please complete our Food Addition Request Form listed below and submit it via email to, via fax to 907-465-3416 or by mail to PO Box 110612, Juneau, AK 99811.

If you do not have access to a printer you may email the following REQUIRED information to Incomplete submissions will not be processed.

  • UPC / Barcode (often 12-digits)
  • Brand Name
  • Food/Product Name
  • Package Size
  • Image of product label including ingredient list and nutrition facts panel *

* If images are unclear or unavailable, a complete list of ingredients is required.
