Cordova Public Health Center

About Us

Cordova Public Health Nursing provides services for the communities of Cordova, Yakutat, and Chenega Bay. The health center is staffed by a Public Health Nurse III and an Office Assistant II.

Cordova PHC collaborates with partners in coordinating regional health fairs, participating in local health coalitions, Fish-to-Schools program, and Emergency Preparedness exercises with Mass Dispensing Clinics. Other health promotion and community  awareness activities include the “I Did It by Two” immunization campaign, Cordova Health Fair, and outreach/education at the annual Salmon Jam festival.

Public health nursing plays a major role in infectious disease surveillance and investigation. We partner with State of Alaska Epidemiology through local public health nursing case investigations of tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), foodborne illnesses and other reportable diseases such as giardiasis.

Each clinic visit, we also offer individual screenings and referrals for domestic/interpersonal violence, healthy lifestyle, and alcohol use risk.

Scheduling and Fees

Please call (907) 424-4547 to schedule an appointment. Fees are assessed for all public health nursing services. We have a sliding scale based on family size and income; no one is turned away for inability to pay. Registration forms are available to fill out ahead of your appointment.
