Counselor Training and Certification
A certified Medicare Counselor assists people in their community with Medicare questions and enrollment. In order to become certified as a Medicare Counselor, we have a "Pathway to Certification" which involves taking and passing online courses on the core Medicare topics that you will be assisting people with.
In order to access the training courses, you will need to register and be approved for an account with the SHIP National Technical Assistance Center.
Once you have done so, see the Pathway to Certification (pdf) for a list of the required courses and steps in the certification process.
