Health Analytics and Vital Records (HAVRS)

Who we are

Health Analytics and Vital Records (HAVRS) manages Alaska vital records and health data. You can place orders for vital records via walk-in to our Anchorage or Juneau offices, or by mail, fax, or through our third-party online vendor, VitalChek.com. We do not accept order by email or phone.

What we do

Health Analytics and Vital Records (HAVRS) manages vital records and health data, making sure Alaskans have access to accurate data, documents, and information. This includes certificates for births, deaths, marriages, divorces, and adoptions, as well as paternity and amendment processing.

HAVRS also oversees health-related data, including the cancer registry, hospitalization records, medical provider price lists, and health facility reporting. To find available health-related data, see the “Related Education” and “Data and Reports” sections below.

Services provided by HAVRS include:

• Certified copies of vital records
• Marriage licenses
• Heirloom birth and marriage certificates
• Statements of search for vital records
• Medical marijuana cards
• Delayed birth certificate applications
• Certification services for international document validation (Apostilles)

Tips for secure delivery

• Use a tracked shipping method, especially with "General Delivery" addresses
• After your order has been filled you will receive an automated system email with shipping information from no-reply@ntst.com with Health Analytics & Vital Records Services in the subject line. 

Note: Alaska Vital Records is not responsible for items once they have been shipped. If you paid for a tracked shipping method and your order is lost by the postal service, Alaska Vital Records will replace your order one time. If your documents cannot be delivered, are returned, or are lost, you will need to submit a new request along with your ID and payment.

Additional information

• If you need to make a change or amendment to a vital record, please contact our Special Services Unit. 
• Records are only available for events that occurred in Alaska. For other states, visit the National Center for Health Statistics

Important: Records are not available to the public until after 100 years for births and 50 years for marriage, divorce, and death.
