How to use

Parents are encouraged to ask their healthcare provider about the results of the screening at the 2-week well-child visit. Results are available to Alaska Healthcare Providers via a secure online reports system.

Parents or legal guardians may request newborn screening results for their minor children by contacting the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Program. Individuals age18 years and older must request their own records.

Newborn screening records are not retained after age 21.

Please note – records requests for birthdates prior to July 1, 2018 will take additional processing time.
