Alaska Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee
Experts evaluate and select preferred medications for Medicaid
Who we are
The Alaska Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee is a team of Alaskan doctors and pharmacists appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Health.
What we do
The committee reviews drug classes for the Department's Medicaid program. They identify which drugs are safe and effective, and which drugs cost less than other drugs in the same class. Medicaid-enrolled physicians are asked to prescribe drugs that have been given “preferred status” by this committee.
