Who we are
Office of Healthcare Access (OHA) coordinates programs that strengthen health care access with a focus on rural areas and underserved populations. This includes statewide health system planning, assessments, and funding designed to support rural hospitals, community health centers, and healthcare providers.

What we do
- Connect federal, state and local partners to build capacity and resources to improve the health of rural communities
- Provide technical assistance on rural health programs, critical access hospital conversion, quality improvement, financial sustainability and innovation, population health strategies, and healthcare workforce to improve access to care
- Assess primary care needs and coordinate Federal Healthcare Provider Shortage Area Designations and Medically Underserved Areas/Populations
- Support healthcare workforce recruitment and retention incentives such as SHARP
