Maternal Child Health (MCH) Epidemiology
Track and measure the health of women, children, and families in Alaska
Who we are
MCH Epidemiology is part of the Section of Women's, Children's, and Family Health in the Division of Public Health. Our purpose is to provide reliable data for use to measure and track health status, planning and evaluating programs, guiding public health policy, and preventing poor health outcomes.
What we do
Through our programs and partners, we collect, analyze, and interpret information on the health of women, children, young adults, and families. MCH Epidemiology programs include the Alaska Birth Defects Registry (ABDR), the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), the Childhood Understanding Behaviors Survey (CUBS), Alaska Longitudinal Child Abuse and Neglect Linkage (ALCANLink) project , and the Maternal Child Death Review (MCDR). We also manage the MCH Indicators Data Hub.

Researchers who would like to request a de-identified dataset from any of our programs should submit a completed WCFH Data Utilization Agreement and Data Request form to mch-epi@alaska.gov.
