Governor appointed commission
Who we are
Alaskans share a vision of a flexible system where people guide their own supports, focusing on their strengths and abilities to live meaningful lives at home, at work, and in their communities. This vision includes supported families, skilled professionals, and accessible services statewide, both now and in the future.
What we do
The Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education (GCDSE) fulfills multiple federal and state roles, bringing together expertise and perspectives from stakeholders across Alaska into a unified council.
GCDSE creates opportunities for the public to connect with policymakers, supporting the development of an efficient, seamless service delivery system that addresses the needs of people with disabilities at every stage of life.
