Complex Behavior Training
Consultation to help providers better serve aggressive, assaultive patients
Overview
The Complex Behavior Collaborative (CBC) helps providers meet the needs of Alaskans with complex needs such as those who are aggressive, assaultive, or difficult to support. The goal is to help clients live as independently as possible, and avoid the Alaska Psychiatric Institute, jail, emergency rooms, or out-of-state care. The CBC also offers consultation and training to providers and clients’ natural supports, including family members.

Who qualifies?
The CBC assists service providers willing to work with such Alaskans. Clients may be eligible for CBC services if they:
- Currently receive services from Senior & Disabilities Services or Behavioral Health
- Have stable housing where they can be assessed and receive services
- Are medically stable
- Are at risk of losing housing, police involvement, hospitalization, or out-of-state placement
- Have exhausted all other treatment options without success
How to sign up
Agencies who have a potentially eligible client should contact the program. If the client is eligible, the CBC will contract with a consultant to support the agency through consultation and training.
Families or schools cannot refer directly to the CBC program, even though CBC consultants do collaborate with school teams and natural supports (family members).
