Overview

The Alaska Medical Marijuana Registry is a list of Alaskans who have shown that they may benefit from the medical use of marijuana. This list is confidential, which means it is kept private from the public. People who are listed get a wallet-sized card that says they are on the registry.

Who qualifies?

To qualify for the Medical Marijuana Registry in Alaska you must have a serious medical condition like cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, or muscle spasms, as diagnosed by a doctor. The doctor must decide if medical marijuana could help your condition.

How to sign up

The packet below shows you the steps to fill out your application. It also includes state laws (“statutes”) about marijuana registry cards. These explain who can apply and what information the state needs to approve your request.

Please remember: If your application is denied, the law says you must wait at least 6 months before you can apply again.
