Pediatric Care Facility Recognition
Builds upon treatment facilities' existing capacities
Overview
Medical care isn’t one-size-fits-all, especially for kids. That’s why we created the Alaska Pediatric Facility Recognition Program (APFR).
APFR recognizes hospitals equipped with the right pediatric tools, medications, training, and protocols to deliver high-quality emergency care for children who are seriously ill or injured. This voluntary program has three levels: primary, general, and comprehensive.
Alaska’s Recognized Pediatric Care Facilities:
- Alaska Native Medical Center (comprehensive)
- Providence Alaska Medical Center (comprehensive)
- Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (general)
Who qualifies?
Any of Alaska’s recognized Pediatric Care Facilities are eligible to apply for the recognition.
How to sign up
Alaska facilities who are interested in pursuing this voluntary recognition can find toolkits to help support and assist the application process by visiting the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Innovation & Improvement Center.
