Recovery Journey Program

Recovery Journey, ASAM Level of Care 3.5, is a 16 bed facility located at 30881 Eklutna Lake Road
Chugiak, AK 99567.  Recovery Journey is a Co-Occurring treatment program that provides services to adults (male and female) ages 18 years of age and up. We provide 20+ hours of clinical services 7 days a week assure participants have a wide range of group topics and evidence based curriculum to assure overall wellness prior to graduation. Services include substance use individual services, co-occurring individual services, and group services (education and therapy).  Service topics and interventions include Trauma Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Life Skills (employment and training) relapse prevention, alcohol and drug education, suicide prevention, family services, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Participants are involved in 15 hours of work therapy to strengthen work skills for stable employment at discharge.  Participants engage in Tele-Psychiatry which includes a mental health assessment and medication management if needed.  Our treatment schedule includes at least two community supports attendance weekly with integrated cultural activities. Case management and peer services are provided weekly to all participants. We are a “therapeutic village of care” designed to provide culturally specific treatment services in a community, village-like environment.  We view addiction as a disorder of the “whole” person and therefore strive to equip you with the skills to move from addiction to long-term recovery.  This will involve the treatment community as your overall support system in your journey to recovery.  Alaska Native culture is at the core of the treatment community.
