Who we are

The Prevention and Intervention team helps people stay healthy by focusing on mental and emotional well-being. We work to stop problems early and support people who need help.

What we do

We aim to build a healthier future by preventing problems before they start and offer help as soon as challenges arise.

Programs include:

  • Suicide Prevention: Provide support and education to prevent suicide.
  • Substance Abuse Prevention / Partners for Success: Teach ways to avoid problems with drugs and alcohol.
  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD): Share information about health problems caused by alcohol use during pregnancy.
  • Alcohol Safety Action Program: Help people make safer choices about drinking.
  • Tobacco Enforcement and Education: Ensure businesses that sell tobacco follow the rules and teach young people about the risks of smoking, vaping, and other tobacco use.
  • Alcohol and Drug Information in Schools: Offer classes on the dangers of alcohol and drug use.
