Help prevent chronic disease, injury, and substance misuse in Alaska
Who we are
The Section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) is made up of professionals working to prevent chronic disease, injury, substance misuse, and other preventable health problems.
What we do
CDPHP works with communities, health systems, worksites, and schools to reduce and manage the most prevalent, costly, and preventable health problems across Alaska.
These include:
- Chronic diseases, like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and dementia
- Injuries
- Substance misuse and addiction
We also collect data so that we understand the health risks of Alaskans and can create, evaluate, and improve programs directed at enhancing health.
