About Next Move
About
Next Move is a collection of local resources to help support the steps you want to take next, whether you’re looking for a new group or hobby, help changing your relationship with substances, or just information to keep you safer.
Why Next Move
Next Move was created to connect us and help improve lives.
We worked with young adults who use substances and those in recovery to build this community hub. We talked about what matters most, and here’s what we heard:
- Mental health and substance use are deeply connected.
- People use substances to relax, to connect, to cope, or even to survive.
- Real stories matter. When we share honestly, we help each other.
- Knowing the facts helps people make their own choices. Fear tactics don’t.
- Art, movement, and community can be powerful ways to feel better.
- There's a need for more sober events and community activities.
- The people around you make a difference. Good friends support your goals.
- Nobody gets it right every time. Progress isn’t perfect, and that’s normal.
