Year 2 Application Walkthrough

Join DOH and Alaska Community Foundation (ACF) on Thursday, October 1 from 1:00 to 1:30pm for an in-depth walkthrough of the Year 2 fall cycle application portal. Attendees can expect to learn more about the content and structure of the updated application portal and ask questions about the application process. 

RHTP Applicant Support Webinar

This virtual webinar on Friday, October 2 from 1:00 to 2:00pm, is intended to serve as a resource for prospective applicants in the Year 2 funding cycle. DOH leadership will provide a recap of the September 23 applicant convening; share growth opportunities from the Year 1 cycle and how to strengthen proposals for future rounds; and answer applicant questions. 

Alaska RHTP Applicant Convening: Celebrating Year 1, Looking Ahead to Year 2

Alaska Department of Health hosted a day dedicated to connecting Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) applicants and preparing for the Year 2 funding cycle.

The event opens with a look back at Year 1 lessons learned and a preview of what to expect in Year 2, followed by a panel of successful applicants who will share insights and take audience questions. The afternoon offered theme-specific office hours where the RHTP team were available to answer questions on crafting a successful Year 2 application.

RHTP Funding Cycle Updates: Reflections and Next Steps

On September 11, DOH hosted a public webinar that focused on reflections from the Year 1 funding cycle and provide a high-level overview of the approach for the upcoming Year 2 funding cycle. 

RHTP regional meetings

The Alaska Department of Health will hold a series of statewide regional planning meetings during the initial funding cycle of the Rural Health Transformation Program. The purpose of these meetings is to provide a forum for community stakeholders to give input on priority issues, challenges, and opportunities in their area related to RHTP initiatives and set a vision for rural health reform in their region. 

To ensure broad participation, meetings will be hosted in communities across Alaska, including hub and rural locations. Initial meetings are scheduled for:

• Juneau: November 17, 2026
• Kodiak: November 9, 2026
• Utqiagvik / North Slope: October 27, 2026

Initial meetings have been held:

• Greater Anchorage Area: September 22, 2026
• Valdez: September 3, 2026
• Ketchikan: August 10, 2026
• Dillingham: July 8, 2026
• Cordova: June 29-30, 2026
• Triangle (Delta Junction, Tok, Glennallen, Copper River Basin): June
  25, 2026
• Mat-Su: June 4, 2026
• Fairbanks: May 5, 2026
• Kenai Peninsula: April 30, 2026
• Seward: April 29, 2026

Additional meetings are being planned in other regions throughout the state as we work to reach as many communities as possible.

How to get involved in regional meetings

We welcome engagement in the regional meeting planning process. If you are interested in attending a scheduled regional meeting or would like to express interest in having a regional meeting in your community, please fill out the Regional Meeting Interest Form. 

Due to space constraints, these events will have a curated guest list to support meaningful participation. All submissions are reviewed individually, and we will follow up if space becomes available.

If you are unable to attend but would like to contribute ideas, questions, or discussion topics related to the Rural Health Transformation Program to one of the Regional Meetings, please submit your thoughts using our Community Input Form.
