Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Grants
Grants for programs that help older adults stay healthy and active
Overview
Older adults are, on average, the least active group of adults, increasing the risk of chronic health issues. Research-based programs empower them to stay active, build confidence, and manage their well-being. Physical activity can also improve physical health, lower depression, and slow mental decline. Learning health self-management skills helps older Alaskans work with their doctors to make decisions and may lower the need for expensive medical treatments.
Who qualifies?
Any adult age 60 and older can participate in these services, if available in your community.
