Assessing school health policies statewide
Overview
The School Health Profiles (Profiles) is a survey of middle and high school principals and lead health teachers (or person most knowledgeable about health education) to assess the status of health and wellness-related policies, procedures, instruction, and environments within their schools. Profiles is part of a national program coordinated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Who qualifies?
Alaska middle and high school principals and lead health teachers (or the person identified to be the most knowledgeable about health education in the school) participate in even numbered years. Taking part of the survey is anonymous and data is provided at the state level-not school or district.
How to participate
Middle and high school principals and lead health teachers are eligible to participate if they are in a school that is selected through a scientific sampling process by the CDC. If your school is selected, you will receive an email requesting your participation from the School Health Profiles Program Manager. Here’s how to participate or support the survey:
