Genevieve Casey, MSW is a Program Coordinator for the Alaska Division of Behavioral Health, Section of Prevention & Early Intervention, serving as the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Coordinator for the division, as well as managing a number of prevention grant programs providing support, oversight, training and technical assistance to communities working on behavioral health prevention interventions. Genevieve has served in the fields of child abuse prevention, family reunification, emergency mental health service, in-patient behavioral health services, and counseling for over 15 years. Genevieve has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since 2006. She provides Motivational Interviewing, Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral (SBIRT) training and consultation to a variety of Alaskan service providers including the Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP), the Alaska Therapeutic Courts, and Juneau Alliance for Mental Health, Inc. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University and the Master of Social Work from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Tony Piper, MS, LPC has worked in the field of Behavioral Health for over 25 years. He has worked in-patient, residential, and out-patient settings as a youth worker, counselor, and therapist before joining the prevention and early intervention team with the state of Alaska. Tony is currently the manager of the Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) for the state and oversees the monitoring of misdemeanor alcohol and drug offenders as well as the case management and community supervision of several Therapeutic Courts around the state. He is an LPC, has a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology, and is working on his Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in social transformation.

Michael Powell, Ph.D has served as a Health Program Manager for community-based programs with the State of Alaska since 1999. When he isn’t working with colleagues in seeking non-toxic alternatives to tobacco and drug use, he may be found promoting his passion for measuring what we do. He currently assists in oversight and approval of Alaska’s private substance abuse treatment programs (for court ordered clients) with the Division of Behavioral Health and as a special assistant for executive projects for the Alcohol Safety Action Program, as well as grants management for the statewide Rural Human Services Systems Project, promoting rural workforce development.
