Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program helps eligible Alaskans get breast and cervical health screenings. Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program enrollees can get mammograms and pap tests paid for by the program. Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program also pays for diagnostic tests when needed, and helps Alaskans get referred for financial support if they need treatment.

Eligibility
Thousands of Alaskans are eligible for a Pap test and Mammogram paid for by Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program.
You may qualify for Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program if:
- You are an Alaska resident aged 21–64
- You meet Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program income guidelines

- Eligibility information will be verified over the phone
- Documentation such as a social security number is not required
- When you enroll in the program the Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program team will send you a welcome letter
- A list of Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program health care providers will also be sent to you if you don't have a primary health care provider
- Enrollments expire one year from the date you enroll. To re-enroll, contact Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program or your health care provider
- If you have Medicare Part B, you are not eligible for Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program
- LGBTQ+ Eligibility Information
- Transgender women (male-to-female), who may have taken
or are taking hormones and meet all program eligibility requirements,
are eligible to receive breast cancer screening and diagnostic services
through Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program.
- Transgender men (female-to-male) may still receive cancer screenings through Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program if they have not had a bilateral mastectomy or total hysterectomy.

Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program Services
Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program can pay for approved screening exams. If any exam results are abnormal, Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program can also pay for approved diagnostic tests to rule out problems, including cancer.
Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program can pay for:
- Breast Cancer Screenings
- Clinical breast exam
- Screening mammogram (for women ages 40–64)
- Diagnostic follow up tests if results are abnormal
- Cervical Cancer Screenings (for women ages 21–64)
- Pap test
- HPV test
- Diagnostic follow up test if results are abnormal
- Support if Diagnosed with Cancer
If you are screened through Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program and cancer or a pre-cancerous condition is found, you may be eligible to have your treatment paid for by Medicaid. The Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program team will help you with the referral process to Medicaid.
Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program does NOT cover:
- birth control
- general bloodwork
- the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
