  • Follow manufacturer instructions for incubation prior to sending.

Results  

  • Neisseria gonorrhoeae: Isolated/Not Isolated 
  • Beta-lactamase: Negative/Positive 

A normal result is not isolated or negative. 

Turnaround time  

3-5 days 

Notes   

 A laboratory that isolates N. gonorrhoeae must submit an isolate or an aliquot of the original specimen to ASPHL.
